A clear example of this can be seen, from one of our countries most pivotal states loaded with history known us as Gettysburg Pennsylvania. One of the countless examples we see in action, is the adage of picking oneself by the boot straps and moving forward. As we revisit the historic day of Nov 19th, 1863, where the dedication of the Soldier’s National Cemetery, where Abraham Lincoln delivered the famous Gettysburg Address. Where the impact of the battle and its aftermath had transformed the Borough of Gettysburg from a battleground into a national icon. As a dedicated infrastructure, The Gettysburg Festival Inc. mission is to increase cultural tourism and arts education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Through the initiative of celebrating America through music, theater, film, art and dance. This annual festival appeals to all ages by presenting world-class artists and performers, along with unique educational opportunities, against the historic backdrop of Gettysburg in establishing itself as one of the premier cultural festivals in America. The last 20 years have been a major development period for Gettysburg, but despite its growth, the borough has preserved its integrity and buildings to help its residents, and visitors, understand the importance of history even throughout significant times of change.
